Blantyre Chief Resident Magistrate Jean Kaira on Monday found guilty and convicted Andrew Ngomwa of three counts of rape, defilement and indecent practice in the presence of a child.
She, however, acquitted him of procuring defilement by administering drug.
The magistrate also removed from his six charges two counts of sexual intercourse with a minor under one’s care on grounds that they are a duplication of rape and defilement cases.
Ngomwa, a former MASM Chief Commercial Officer, was defiling his 16-year-old niece in 2020.
The court said it will sentence him on 17 February, 2022 and the convict has had his bail revoked and remanded to Blantyre prison, popularly known as Chichiri prison.
