Police in Zambia are being accused of torturing Shabby Chilekwa Barber man for the country’s former president Edgar Chagwa who was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting to death a United National for  Development Party (UNDP) Cadre.

According to reports, Chilekwa has lost his hearing as he was subjected to torture.

The Human Rights Commission visited the police but they were denied access to Mr Chilekwa because he is in bad shape, sources reveal, and that chances of survival are very slim.
Mr Chilekwas is being badly tortured to compel him to admit that he was involved in the shooting to death of UPND cadre Lawrence “Gaddaffi” Banda.

A source close to the interrogating team said that Mr Chilekwa says is being told to sign a statement that he got an unknown firearm from State House which could have been used in the shooting.

Mr Chilekwa has however refused to yield to the demands of the police and insists on his innocence, therefore attracting more torture.
