Former president Jacob Zuma will be back in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg on Wednesday.

It will rule on his latest bid to have state prosecutor Billy Downer removed from his corruption trial.

In October, Judge Piet Koen dismissed an application for Downer to be dropped from the case.

Zuma had argued the state attorney was neither independent nor impartial.

In January his lawyer, Dali Mpofu, said Zuma felt his case was being treated differently from others.

If Zuma’s application is successful it could delay his corruption trial set to begin on 11 April.
