The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) is set to release a K5, 000 banknote tomorrow.

According to RBM Spokesperson Ralph Tseka confirmed the development saying the bank has been conducting sensitization campaigns over the past three months on the introduction of the banknote.

“We have reached out to people during market days in our road shows; we have been playing jingles on radios and TVs; we have been putting adverts in the local newspapers sensitising people to the features of the new denomination.

“The idea was that people should know these features so that they will be able to distinguish the genuine note from a fake one,” Tseka said.
