Reverend Yasin Gama of Mvama Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) Made a shocking apology yesterday when he appeared before the Chewa Heritage Foundation (CHEFO) over his Gule Wamkulu remarks in a viral video.

CHEFO summoned Gama for allegedly demeaning their culture when he gave an example of masquareds as beneficiaries of God’s mercy even though they are depicted to be sinners.

Even though Nkhoma Synod Secretary General Vasco Kachipapa apologized on behalf on Gama, CHEFO demanded a public apology from the horses mouth.

When he stood up to make his apology, Gama who sounded not regretting what he said in the viral video clip, said he was summoned for speaking the truth.

He told the people who were present that the remarks were his last words and a goodbye and prayed to God to bare him witness for being forced to apologize.

He proceeded asking God to receive his spirit and soul, adding that he blood should be used as salvation to all Chewa people through the generation that is to come.

But after being advised by the DC and his fellow faith leaders, he apologized to the heritage saying the message was wrongly said.

“I agree that the language that I used it was utterly wrong to our culture as Chewas,” he said.

Coordinator for Chewa Heritage Foundation, Chief Paramount Lukwa said the sentiments by Reverend Gama have the potential to fuel violence in the country, hence asking Gama to officially apologize to Chewa people.
