President Lazarus Chakwera says the Generation Equality Leadership Conference is the greatest opportunity of raising another bar and help women to successes.

Chakwera said this at Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe where he opened the conference.

In his speech Chakwera encouraged women in the country to help each other.

“The equality leadership conference has taken my government to have changes in the cabinet seats, under this organization i will make sure that the economic of women is transformed and increase women resources through many innovations”, said Chakwera.

He added that, employers find well educated women and give them the highest positions in the country because women are doing well in their fields and men celebrate them.

On her part, Dr Joyce Banda, former president, said the Inter-generational equality organisation is based at seeing girls and women in exercising freedom and choices.

She added that efforts are required inorder to see meaningful change because the inequality affects girls and women in the world.

The theme of the conference is ‘Growing And Glowing Against All Odds’ , the meeting is for three days and will be led by former President Dr Joyce Banda who is the Chairperson of Women’s Empowerment and Development (WED).
