A 27-year-old man has committed suicide following disagreements with his girlfriend in Dedza district.
Dedza Police Spokesperson Edward Kabango has confirmed the development while identifying the deceased as Andrew Kathumba.
According to Kadango, the man who is a tailor asked his girlfriend who is in form 2 to move into his house and that she would continue with her education coming from his house.
Kabango said, that the girl opposed the idea saying she would not concentrate on her education. This response did not please him and he committed suicide.
Kabango further disclosed that the deceased left a suicide note on a sewing machine where he instructed his relatives to leave all his possessions to his girlfriend.
Police were informed and they took the dead body to Dedza District Hospital where a post-mortem revealed that the death was due to poison.
Police have since advised people to always seek good solutions to solve their problems rather than committing suicide.
Kathumba hailed from Mdumu Village in the area of Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba District.
