President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will this morning conduct a crop inspection tour in Dowa District.

According to a statement from the Office of the President and Cabinet, the tour will take the Malawi leader to Ndembo, Chingowe, Zungulira, Mnguluwe, Mapondera, and Chilundu Villages in the area of Traditional Authority Mkukula.

Thereafter, Dr. Chakwera will inspect fields in Lirambwe Village, under Nachisaka EPA, in the area of Traditional Authority Msakambewa.

The statement says the Malawi leader will then hold a development rally at Msakambewa Headquarters in the district.

The inspection is expected to start at 10 am.

Meanwhile, the government has announced minimum farmgate prices for the 2022 – 2023 growing season.

Minister of Agriculture, Lobin Lowe, says the setting of the prices is aimed at ensuring that farmers optimally benefit from their labor.
