The body of Miriam Chakwera, a sister to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will be laid to rest this coming Wednesday in Manase Village, Dowa District.

State House Press Officer Anthony Kasunda has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to faceofmalawi.

According to Kasunda, Chakwera has suspended all his engagement to mourn his sister.

“The President will resume his public engagements after the burial of the deceased sister, which will take place on Wednesday,” the statement reads.

Chakwera’s sister died on Monday.
