Zambia’s former Foreign Affairs Minister Effron Lungu has died.

Lungu, who served under late President Michael Sata, was also Chama South Member of Parliament.

In August 2013, President Sata fired Mr Lungu and replaced him with Wilbur Simusa.

The former Minister later served the rest of his term as a backbencher until 2016.

According to Zambia reports, Chama South MP Davison Mung’andu has announced Mr Lungu’s death in a WhatsApp group for journalists and sources.
