Nigeria Beat Kenya by 1-0 to Confirm for World Cup Qualifying:
African champions Nigeria snatched a winner 9 minutes from time through Ahmed Musa to beat Kenya One-Zero away & boost their World Cup qualifying possibilities in Nairobi on Wednesday.
Musa’s goal gave the Super Eagles a 2 point prime at the topmost of Group F as closest opponents Malawi were previously held to a goalless draw by Namibia at home in Blantyre.
Nigeria, who is headline to the Confederations Cup in Brazil, advanced this month, moved on to 8 points with two games to play as Malawi failed to keep pace.
Nigeria tour Namibia following Wednesday while Malawi congregation Kenya at the equivalent time in another decisive round of matches with only the group champions progressing to the 3rd qualifying round.
It was Nigeria’s first win since they unexpectedly prevailed at the African Nations Cup in SA in February.
They required an equalizer in supplementary time at home to Kenya in March to escape a major setback on the road to Brazil & drew two-two with Mexico in a pleasant last week before touring from Houston, Texas to Nairobi for World Cup qualifier.
