The High Court sitting in Lilongwe has adjourned to May 20 a case in which it is set to review an order by Mzuzu Senior Resident Magistrate Godfrey Nyirenda that ACB Director-General Martha Chizuma should be interrogated in relation to a leaked phone conversation.

One of Chizuma’s lawyers Martha Kaukonde said Director of Public Prosecutions Steve Kayuni asked for more time to read the magistrate’s file.

Chizuma’s lawyers asked the High Court to review Nyirenda’s order that police should investigate the authenticity of the conversation the ACB DG allegedly had with a person yet to be officially identified.

A concerned citizen, Frighton Mphopo, asked the court to open a case against Chizuma apparently because she had revealed official information to a third party against the law.
