The Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of a man of Lusaka who was one of the three dangerous criminals who referred to themselves as ‘Americano’ which were responsible for two murders in Lusaka’s State Lodge about a decade ago.

Henry Daka was sentenced to death by the High Court on two counts of murder which occurred in State Lodge – one for farmer Mark Jellis and the other for a police officer, Gilbert Kasanda.

Mr Jellis sustained gunshot wounds when the criminals attacked him and he died a month later in South Africa, where he had been evacuated, while Mr Kasanda died at the scene, where he had rushed to together with members of the neighbourhood watch.
