The Public Accounts committee of Parliament (PAC) is calling on government and investigating agencies to investigate and conclude the corruption case involving Zunneth Sattar.
Shadric Namalomba PAC Chairperson said this on Thursday after meeting the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).
According to Namalomba it is worrisome that everyone has now become a suspect in the case as the case is being deliberated on the social media.
He has asked ACB and government to do something about those speculating about the case on the social media saying this has potential of damaging innocent people’s image.
Namalomba has also asked investigating agencies to conclude the case in good time for lives to go on in Malawi.
While refusing to comment on the matter which is now in court, Eliya Bodole ACB Deputy Director General said ACB do not have control over what people post on the social media.
He said people have a right to write or comment on issues on social media as long as they do not break the law.
