KENYA – Police officers in Nairobi are investigating a school case where a boy aged 11 years jumped off the third floor of the school after being punished by the school management.

The school management decided to allegedly punish the boy for not attending school regularly.

However, after being punished, the boy is said to have moved out of the class and jumped off the third floor of the building.

He fell to the ground with a thud, leaving him with several body fractures.

According to the Star report this Thursday, the boy broke his jaw, both hands and right leg.

The publication reports that police said they were informed the boy was in hospital after the jump in an attempted suicide after he was punished for absenteeism.

The case which happened in Embakasi is now under investigation.

This is a rare case of a student trying to take his own life in school after being punished.
