UK-based businessman Zuneth Sattar has denied allegations that he bribed government officials to be awarded government contracts in Malawi.

Sattar has told Times of London that he is not corrupt and that his fate is in the hands of God.

Sattar said he is hated in Malawi and that the whole country has turned against him for among others allegedly inflating prices of drinks and other goods supplied to government.

Several government officials in Malawi including the State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima are implicated in Sattar’s corruption scandal.

Last week, President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera fired Inspector General of Police Dr. George Kainja over Sattar’s Corruption scandal.

Chakwera also suspended Chief of Staff at State House Chris Kampondamgaga and Director of procurement over the same.
