Former vice president and president for Assembly for Democracy and Development (ADD) Cassim Chilumpha has described the current Tonse Alliance administration as a total mess the country has ever had.

Chilumpha made the remarks on Sunday at Mpinganjira Community Ground in Mangochi during a political rally aimed at rebranding his party.

According to Chilumpha, high level of corruption, high cost of living and lack of direction by the Tonse Alliance government are indications of a failed government.

On corruption, he wondered why government was “concentrating on small fishes leaving out the big fishes depleting the public purse.”

He says Malawians should brace for tougher times ahead as long as the Tonse government remains in power.

But recently, Information Minister and Lands Minister, Gospel Kazako and Sam Kawale respectively said it was unfair and disrespectful to label the Tonse government as a failure just in two years when they have a five-year-mandate.
