Former Member of Parliament for Kasungu West Alex Major has threatened to take legal action against Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Secretary General Eisenhower Mkaka for expelling him from the party.

Major was fired from the party on Thursday for allegedly disobeying the party’s President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera who is also Tonse Alliance leader.

Reacting to his firing Major has asked Mkaka to reverse the decision.
Major has also asked Mkaka to refrain from taking the party as personal property.

“Hon. Secretary General Sir, Article 15 of Malawi Congress Party Constitution does not allow you not to follow rules of natural justice. You know what I mean by natural justice. This section provides guidance on how you act,” said Mkaka.

The firing of Major came barely days after being blocked from holding media briefing at MCP’s regional offices in Lilongwe.
