Minister of Gender Patricia Kaliati has said her ministry is planning of increasing the number of Social Cash Transfer (SCT) beneficiaries in Nkhotakota district.
The minister of Gender made the remarks during the launch of SCT program E-payment in the same district.
Kaliati has appealed to the beneficiaries to utilize the money in a productive way.
Reports indicates that about 8,000 people benefit from the World Bank funded program in the district, and a beneficially receives cash ranging from K4,000 to K20,000 depending on the needs of a household.
The launch has followed the transition to mobile money payments in Malawi government funded Thyolo district in May this year.
