Zambia’s Vice President Mutale Nalumango has warned that corruption will deprive the country of its growth.

This followed a question by leader of the opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile who said he agrees with the statement from TIZ insinuating that the Head of State is protecting the corrupt.

Mr Mundubile wondered why the Head of State was quite on the “dubious” contract of building infrastructure in the Health sector when he has been loud on other corruption allegations.

In response during her question time in Parliament today, the Vice President said Mr Mundubile and those making corruption allegations have a duty to report such cases to the police.

Mrs Nalumango wondered why the MP wanted to be a “silent whistle blower.”

She said the New Dawn Administration will continue to harness the issue of accountability and transparency.

“Right now if we are corrupt here, if you have the evidence come and say Nalumango is corrupt,” he said.
