Lately, a video was shared on Twitter by a South African lady, informing South Africans on how some foreign nationals who were alleged to be Mozambicans, were entering South Africa. This lady was perplexed as she asked if the procedure used by these Mozambicans to enter South Africa was legal. She wrote. “This is the border fence between South Africa and Mozambique. What you see here, does it qualify as legally entering South Africa?”

Currently, South Africans are battling with their government concerning foreign nationals entering South Africa, without following proper and documenting procedures. They reinforced a group popularly known as Operation Dudula Movement. Through this movement, numerous foreign nationals has been forced to leave South Africa.

Daily, illegal foreign nationals are being seen or apprehended by the police. This is caused by the less value placed in South Africa’s immigration system. South Africa, need to place great effort in their immigration department. A country should be known for her laws. If the laws governing a country are not well implemented by foreigners in that country, it will become a disaster to the people of that country.

Despite the warning Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, of the home affairs department gave regarding undocumented migration, these undocumented migrants are still seen dominating South Africa. Aaron Motsoaledi previously warned that any migrant which is yet to follow documenting procedures will face penalty from the police. Which then gave rise to the current Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP).

The trauma caused by undocumented migrants is becoming dramatic. South Africans are struggling to eradicate Zimbabweans who are foreign nationals, and Mozambicans are using such opportunity to enter South Africa. The government of South Africa desperately need to act quick in organizing South African borders. It is best to note that the availability of these undocumented migrants, will increase the rate of crime in South Africa.
