Veteran politician Ken Msonda who is also member of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has lambasted those people calling for the resignation of State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima over corruption allegations.
Msonda said is illogical and ideological naive to ask Chilima to step down when the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has not even interviewed him to hear his side of the story on the matter.
“What we have now are just mere political theories designed on how to eliminate him because ACB has not charged him with any case to warrant his resignation. It’s an internal Tonse Alliance politics that is at play here. Let us cross bridge first when we see ACB indicting him but otherwise, its a just a political persecution within Tonse Alliance,” said Msonda.
President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera stripped Chilima all delegated duties over his involvement in corruption scandal involving well known businessman Zuneth Sattar.
The move ignited Chilima’s anger who retaliated by exposing the agreement he signed with Chakwera ahead of the 2020 Fresh Presidential polls.
According to the agreement, the two agreed that Chakwera will run the country for one term and later hand over the leadership to Chilima.
Chakwera is yet to speak on the said partnership agreement exposed by his vice.
