Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Member of Parliament for Mangochi South West Shadrick Namalomba has questioned the absence of leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa and leader of the house Richard Chimwendo Banda in Parliament.

Nankhumwa and Chimwendo Banda together with some Ministers are attending to a two day Anti-Corruption Conference presided over by President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera.

Standing on point of order in Parliament, Namalomba asked for her guidance if it was in order to continue deliberating a bill with the absence of the leadership of the house and some empty seats.

But Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Aisha Adams ruled Namalomba out of order.

However, Adams agreed with concerns raised by Namalomba on the emptiness of the chairs; saying that was not ok.

Nankhumwa has appointed DPP MP for Mwanza Central Nicholas Dausi as acting leader of opposition.

Dausi will be on the position for a week.
