Ampex Courier has obtained a court stay order demanding the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) to open the company’s offices which it sealed over nonpayment of license fee and levies amounting to K29.6 million in total.

High Court Judge Justice Chimbizgani Kacheche has also granted the company permission for judicial review on the action by MACRA to seal the offices and arrest some of its employees.

MACRA sealed the company and arrested two top officials a week ago.

But MACRA Director General Daud Suleman said he is yet to be served with the court order.

Ampex Courier is owned by Minister of Trade Mark Katsonga Phiri.
