The Director General of World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom released a statement yesterday on Wednesday on the importance of keeping a monogamous sexual partner.

For men who have s3x with men and women with men, this includes, for the moment, reducing your number of s3xual partners and reconsidering s3x with new partners must be considered,” he said in a virtual press released I quote.

He encouraged all the countries in passing this health message to it’s citizens. This statement has been made to sensitize people about Monkey pox infection and the public education is aimed to reduce the risk and transmission of the disease.

Monkey pox was declared a World Health emergency on 25 July after 16000 cases were reported from 75 countries. 98% of those affected are men who have s3xual intercourse with other men.

The disease can be transmitted by hugging, kissing and contaminated sheets, towels and beddings.
