Six Blantyre City Council (BCC) officers have been arrested for producing and issuing fake business premise licenses.

Addressing the press, Blantyre City Council Director of Commerce, Industry and Trade Dennis Chinseu said the six employees defrauded K12 million of the council’s revenue in the process.

He said the Council has since introduced advanced electronic security features on all official documents.

He advised stakeholders and the business community to make all payments through designated banks and official means.
