Prophet Shepherd Bushiri of Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) church will for the first time brush shoulders with the country’s President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Dr. Saulos Chilima at the 2022 Umthetho cultural festival in Mzimba.
The festival is scheduled to take place on the foot of Hora Mountain in the district this weekend.
Inkosi ya Makhosi M’mbelwa has confirmed of the development in a statement posted on his official facebook page.
“Apart from our international guests from Zambia and Tanzania, we have confirmations from President Lazarus Chakwera, his vice Saulos Chilima as well as Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. It is going to be a big event,” reads part of the statement.
Umthetho is an annual cultural festival for the Ngoni’s of Mzimba also popularly known as M’mbelwa kingdom which was established in 1885.
This year the festival will be commemorated under the theme, “Campaign Against Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Persons.”
