On Monday, President Lazarus Chakwera hosted the UK-based Malawian comedian Daliso Chaponda at Kamuzu Palace alongside his Uganda colleague Salvado.

Chakwera, appreciated and encouraged Chaponda to continue putting the flag of the country on the map, while describing him as a Malawian treasure.

On his part Chaponda, thanked Chakwera for supporting the arts industry by creating an environment in Malawi where freedom of expression is truly respected.

The renowned comedian pledged to continue bringing comedy shows to Malawi, now that Malawi is a place where his craft is welcome.

In the end, Chaponda and his colleague, took turns to make the President laugh with their jokes before thanking him for his uncommon humility, generosity, and hospitality saying it was an honor ‘Itsanana’
