Malawians on social media have advised their leader Lazarus Chakwera to learn from Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema after the two leaders met at the 42nd Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads State and Government which is taking place in Kinshasa, DRC.

This was in reaction to what the Malawi leader posted on his verified Facebook page that he held bilateral talks on trade ties with the Zambian President by working together to eliminate all barriers to cross-border trading and finding sustainable solutions for the advancement of both nations.

According to Chakwera, the review of the existing Simplified Trade Regime (STR) with a view of expanding the list of eligible products traded remains a top priority for both countries.

“This speaks to the construction of a One-Stop Border Post at the Mchinji- Mwami border, which will ease cross-border trade between Malawi and Zambia. We have agreed to launch the One-Stop Border post jointly, details of which will be shared in due course,” Chakwera said.

However, Malawians thought that their president missed the most important when he got the chance to rub shoulders with Hichilema.

According to the reactions from most Malawians, Chakwera would have asked Hichilema what he is doing in managing the economy of his country and how the Zambian Kwacha is appreciating on the market against the US Dollar.

Adding to that some urged Chakwera that if he wants to learn what really servant leadership is all about, he should learn it from Hichilema citing that he is the true definition of servant leadership.

In the comment section of the Facebook post shared by Chakwera, was filled with appreciation comments for Hichilema who is popularly known as Bally by his people.
