A niece to former President Peter Mutharika, Manice Hale, popularly known as Abiti William Danwood has questioned the United Transformation Movement (UTM) silence on challenges rocking the country such as power crisis and the rise in prices of goods on the market.
Manice who is also member of the UTM has asked top officials to face the reality and pull out of the Tonse Alliance and apologize to Malawians for lying to them ahead of the fresh Presidential polls.
“To my UTM family, especially inu akuluakulu, I have this to say
“You are contributing to the sufferings Malawians are facing right now, this isn’t what people voted for. You made an alliance, you campaigned day in and out telling people that the reason for their misery was DPP government and you promised them Canaan. This government is worse than DPP, people are 3 times suffering than 2 years ago. We trusted each and everyone of y’all, some of us were even arrested for ridiculing DPP because you made us believe it was the worst government,” wrote Manice.
She added: “You convinced Malawians that if voted into power, you will be better than DPP. Who in their right mind in UTM would comfortably say Malawians are better off than 2 years ago? UTM shares 50/50 for the sufferings Malawians are facing. Lero mwakhala pheeee bolani a few individuals zawo zikuwayendera.”
Below is Abiti Manice’s statement

The right thing could have been:
(1). Getting out of this useless alliance (if there’s an alliance at all), apologize to Malawians for being stupid and lying to them that you will make their lives better or:
(2). Wear some big boys pants, sit down with your evil partners, you guys agree on one thing; fulfill at least some of your campaign promises, find solutions to these innocent suffering Malawians who voted for you and then apologize for making them see hell for the past 2 years!!!
