Some UTM members have expressed shock over the “caressing remarks” their vice president Dr Michael Usi popular known in theatre circles as Manganga against MCP president Chakwera at a rally he conducted in Ndirande on Sunday, September 4, 2022.

Several speakers including Norman Nyirenda who is the partys’ directior of planning expressed shock over the treatment President Chakwera is giving to his Vice President Dr Chilima who tirelessly campaigned for him to become president.

“Had it not been Chilima, president Chakwera could not have won the case in court because they(MCP) had a weaker case. Remember MCP and Chakwera have never won any election case in court because always they go to court without proper planning. On top of that Chilima travelled all over the country canvassing votes for Chakwera and yet today he has been constitutionally rendered ceremonial vice president. We can’t allow that. Its better to dump the alliance before things go out of hand as Malawians are suffering out there for lack of leadership,” said Nyirenda.

Nyirenda further said Chilima has a charm of making and unmaking presidents in the country.

But the Guest of Honour, Dr Michael Usi shrugged off other speakers statement saying the blame must not go to one person(Chakwera) but other stakeholders as well from UTM who are working in government including Chilima, Kaliati and himself.

But UTM members say Usi speech speaks of volumes of his hypocrisy as he is an agent of MCP trying to destroy UTM.

“We were expecting him to defend chilima at rally like other speakers but instead he looked away from that and started parading MPs on the podium. He is bootlicker for Chakwera. Infact everyone knows that he has MCP DNA,” said several members of UTM gurus who opted not to be disclose their names.

Some months ago, president Chakwera stripped off chilima from any presidential duty following his name being found in
