TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers are chasing the signature of Flames defender James Sangala to strengthen their side. The Bankers are interested in the experienced player who is a free agent after his contract at Angolan Club Benfica de Luanda was terminated last month.
Silver Strikers General Secretary Mike Tembo observed that Sangala would be a good addition to their squad.
“Everybody would like to sign him. He is a good player with a lot of experience. When he was in the country a few weeks ago, I contacted him and encouraged him to retire at home. He said he would give me feedback at a later date,” Tembo said.
He added that even though Sangala indicated that he had no interest of playing for a local club, they were hopeful of signing him.
“If he shows interest to play for a local club, we will sign him. If we lose Lucky Malata to Bidvest Wits, Sangala would be a good replacement,” he said.
Tembo also added that they were still courting Civo to sign defender John Lanjesi. The Bankers will also miss skillful winger Peter Pindani who will relocate to Neno when he comes back from United States of America where he is on official duty.
Tembo indicated that they would sign the players during the second round transfer window. – Reported by By Lusayo Kanyika
