Zambia President Hakainde Hichilema has stunned delegates at the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) in New York after returning home early without enjoying a cup of tea.

As per tradition, most African leaders tend to spend extra days USA after the UNGA summit but this is not the case with Hakainde Hichilema.

The Zambia President announced his departure on Thursday evening, hours after delivering his speech at UNGA summit.

“We wish to inform you all that we have since left New York for home, Zambia.

“With the First Lady, we greatly appreciate your prayers and continued support,” wrote Hakainde Hichilema on his official facebook page.

The Zambia President attended the UNGA summit for the first time since being elected as Zambia President a year ago.
