Information reaching faceofmalawi indicates that unknown thieves have damaged a transformer for the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) at Khonjeni turn-off in Thyolo.
The move has resulted to loss over power in most part of the district.
According to an eye witness, the suspected thieves have dismantled some parts from the power infrastructure.
No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.
