High Court in Lilongwe is continuing hearing a case involving businessman Zameer Karim Batatawala of Pioneer Investments and two others for being involved in alleged corruption activities.

According to reports, police accounts in charge Grant Kachingwe alongside the former Police Directorate of Finance the late Innocent Botomani connived to abuse office by awarding K2.7 billion contract of food rations to Zameer’s company.

Karim and Kachingwe are answering charges of planning to use public office for one’s advantage, theft, forgery and money laundering.

The two were arrested by the ACB in 2018

Former Inspector General of Police Lexten Kachama who earlier testified in the case is today being cross-examined by lawyers for the suspects.
