Fiscal police in Lilongwe have arrested 17 more officers from the Accountant General’s office over allegations they were involved in irregular transactions.
Police spokesperson, Peter Kalaya, has confirmed of the arrest in an interview with the press.
According to Kalaya, the 17 are expected to answer charges on money laundering, abuse of office and theft by public servant.
According to Kalaya the 17 will appear in court today to be formally charged.
