Parliament has called for the minister of agriculture Honorable Lobin Lowe and all those who took part in the K30 billion fertilizer scam.
Malawi government paid K750 million to a meat company for it produce fertilizer from animal waste under the Affordable Input Program (AIP), as advance payment for fertilizer procurement.
The ministry of agriculture confirmed that it paid K750 million kwacha to the company in United Kingdom for fertilizer procurement.
The company was registered in United Kingdom as a slaughterhouse, with its business focusing on wholesale of meat, dairy products as well as fruit and juices.
However, the Anti-Corruption Bureau-ACB is revealing it did not look in to it as it was avoided.
The issue has attracted public criticism with some questioning how procurement processes were bypassed.
