State Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima who is also President of the United Transformation Movement (UTM) on Saturday met former President Dr. Bakili Muluzi for the first time after the fresh Presidential polls in 2020 which saw the two being in bad blood.

During the campaign trail, Chilima accused Muluzi of hiring thugs to terminate his life.

“Former President Bakili Muluzi, you have hired people to kill me when I go to Mangochi. My life is not in your hands, it is in God’s hands.

“One of the persons you have hired is Mr. Mtenje. You have given some boys K1.7 million each to pelt stone at me.

“Because of this, we are finalising documents which will be filed at the International Criminal Court,” Chilima was quoted as saying during the campaign rally in Zomba.

But on Saturday, the story was different as the two were seen warmly shaking hands and sharing notes at Chiwanja Cha Ayao.

The photos of the two has since gone viral on social media with many wondering as to whether Chilima’s accusation then were really genuine or not.
