The Human Right Defenders Coalition (HRDC) has given President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera 21 days to dissolve his Cabinet and bring on board competent people.

The call comes amid fuel crisis rocking the country which has seen motorists spending hours in fuel pump station to buy fuel.

Despite all this, the Tonse Alliance government seems to be clueless on how to end the fuel crisis.

Speaking in an interview with the press HRDC Chairperson Gift Trapence said the grouping will hold national wide protests if the issue is not addressed within the stated period.

“A DC mumveretu, koma ife komwe tidzapite ndi mademo athu tikukudziwa ndipo likafika tsikulo musadzatifunse. Mafuta akapitilira kuvuta, aMalawi akapitilira kuvutika tikaonetsana konko,”said Trapence.

Two weeks ago Chakwera fired the then Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe over AIP scandal which has seen the Tonse Alliance government being duped MK750 million.

The President replaced Lowe with former Minister of Lands Sam Kawale.

He then promised to reshuffle the whole Cabinet but up until now nothing has happened.
