It has emerged that MAFCO FC forward, Richard Mbulu allegedly threatened to kill match officials in the team’s 2-0 loss to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the first leg of the Airtel Top 8 Cup quarterfinal clash at the Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre on November 6 2022.

A charge sheet also shows that Mbulu dared the match officials never to come to Chitowe Stadium, before leading his teammates to block the officials designated exit gate.

MAFCO has since been charged with bullying and threatening match officials contrary to Article 22:13 of the 2022 Airtel Top 8 Cup Rules and Regulations and Article 59 of FAM Disciplinary Code.

The soldiers are also charged with bringing the game of football into disrepute for failing to control the conduct of their players.

On the other hand, Wanderers are charged with bullying opponents as their supporters poured liquid substances on MAFCO players in the tunnel when they were going to dressing room at half time.

The supporters also harassed MAFCO’s kit master by confiscating papers from him.

Nomads’ failure to control the improper conduct of their supporters has earned them another count if bringing the game of football into disrepute contrary to Article 67 of the FAM Disciplinary Code.
