Member of Parliament (MP) for Mangochi Lutende Constituency Idrisa Kazembe has handed over a two-bedroom house to Mangochi Police that was constructed through Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Member of Parliament for Mangochi Lutende Constituency Idrisa Kazembe officially presented the house to the Police Unit of Tradional Authority Namabvi in Mangochi district.
Kazembe says CDF was established to provide MPs and their constituent communities to make choices and implement projects that exploit their well-being in line with their needs and preferences.
“CDF is there to react to immediate short-term community needs and carrying out of local development projects particularly those that provide essential basic needs including security hence constructing this house for our police,” Kazembe said.
The District Commissioner (DC) Raphael Piringu expressed his gratitude towards Kazembe’s development and on the other hand, he asks for extra police houses and advised community members to respect and join hands with police for the development of their community.
Station Officer for Mangochi Police, Violet Kamwendo and the Assistance Commissioner of Police show appreciation to kazembe for his consideration and warn community members to stop the practice of stealing police facilities instead they should be open with police for misunderstandings.
“Security is supreme to the progress of communities, and Malawi as a country, since investors prefer secured areas for their investments. The house alone is a motivation and people will be served in time since it’s near the office than travelling from long distances,” said Kamwendo.
