The Ministry of Information and Digitalization has said former Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Oil Company Limited (NOCMA) Hellen Buluma wrote her resignation after she had already relieved off her duties.
According to the statement seen by this publication, Buluma has been relieved off her duties as it is in line with the office of Ombudsman which recommended Buluma’s firing citing unprocedural recruitment as the solely reason.
“The Ministry of Information and Digitalization would like to inform the public that the Malawi Government has relieved Ms. Hellen Buluma off her duties as acting Chief Executive Officer for NOCMA. This was in line with the expectations of the public and determination of the office of the Ombudsman,” read the statement.
Reacting on Buluma’s resignation letter that is making rounds on social media, Kazako said it never reached the Office of President and Cabinet (OPC).
“Her letter of resignation which she is circulating over social media platforms has come after this relief from her responsibility and has never been submitted to the Office of the President and Cabinet. This is misleading and should be treated with contempt it deserves,” the statement read.
Today, social media platforms were awash with a resignation letter purportedly from Buluma announcing of her resignation as the acting CEO of NOCMA.
