DPP Councillor Leonard Chimbanga speaks out on Mutharika’s illness rumours

Councilor for Blantyre City Soche East Ward Leonard Chimbanga has rejected rumours hovering on the social media that former President Peter Mutharika who is also leader of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is unwell.
On Friday, the social media was flooded with rumours that Mutharika has been rushed to unknown hospital in Blantyre for unknown illness.
According to rumours, Mutharika got sick after returning from the funeral ceremony of Senior Chief Mponda in Mangochi.
But Chimbanga has blasted the rumours, saying Mutharika is in robust health.
“Don’t buy the lies going around. APM is fine. Akunjenjemera basi anthuwa,” said Chimbanga.
Mutharika is scheduled to hold a meeting with all DPP members this coming Sunday at PAGE house this coming Sunday.
