Former Deputy Chief Executive Officer for National Oil Company of Malawi (Nocma) Helen Buluma has been summoned to appear before Public Appointments Committee (PAC) of Parliament this coming Wednesday, November 23 2022.

PAC Chairperson Joyce Chitsuro has confirmed of the development in a letter addressed to Buluma seen by this publication.

According to the letter, the committee is interested to know more on some of the reasons that Buluma cited in her resignation letter.

“My committee has followed reports regarding your resignation from your position. The committee has further followed reports that point to the fact that your employment contract was actually terminated.

“In that regard, I hereby summon you to come and appear before the committee. You will be expected to give evidence on the circumstances leading to your resignation and the status of your employment contract,” reads in part the letter.

In her resignation letter Buluma cited undue pressure from NOCMA Board Chairperson Colleen Zamba and some politicians as the main reason for to resign.
