Authorities in Neno district have confirmed that at least 129 households have been affected by strong winds and heavy rains which fell over the weekend.
District Council Disaster Desk Officer Brighton Mphinga said the most affected areas are Traditional Authority Chekucheku and Senior Chief Dambe.
Mphinga has since called on well-wishers to consider giving a helping hand to the affected people.
According to Mphinga, the most urgent needed things are food, Kitchen utensils and roofing materials.
The wind has also damaged school blocks at Kalion, Mpimbi and Chilimbondo Primary schools among others.
