Minister of Gender Patricia Kaliati is addressing the Gender Based Violence (GBV) of forced marriages in Lilongwe on the 16 days of activism to end GBV.

This year’s 16 days of activism will take place in Dedza on a date yet to be announced.

According to Kaliati, people need to marry when they are mentally aged, parents should not force children in to marriage, and youth must take time and marry at a right time.

Kaliati has also hailed the judiciary for being able to bring down men who impregnate disabled people and denies the responsibility.

She added that most men fall victim because of having wrong choice of women to marry.
