The Global Director of Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (PHIA), David Hoos, has appreciated the Malawi government for the good development of achieving the 95 Percent target of diagnosing all HIV positive individuals in the country.

According to the survey done by the Malawi Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (MPHIA), 87.3 Percent of people living with HIV/AIDS in the country are viral dominant indicating good progress of managing the disease.

The aim of 95:95:95 targets was of providing antiretroviral therapy (ART) for 95% of those diagnosed and achieving viral suppression for 95% of those treated by 2030.

PHIA conducts surveys in countries to estimates HIV incidence and prevalence, the prevalence of viral load suppression, and measures progress towards as well as help to refocus resources where needed.
