Sophie Willitts-King, Acting British High commissioner to Malawi said her government will not stop supporting vulnerable people to help mitigate effects of food insecurity in the country.
Willitts- King said this during the lean season cash distribution exercise in the area of T/A Kalembo in Balaka.
According to Willitts- King, her government will carry out various social protection programs.
Willitts- King said the programs are aimed at enhancing agriculture production at household level, in building communities’ resilience to climate change effects.
Rose Thomas, One of the beneficiaries, said the support from Sophie’s government will help her family in buying food.
The program will run for five months with 21,000 beneficiaries in the district.
