Police in Limbe have arrested a 22 year old man Isaac Mpinga , who escaped from the lawful custody following a crime of robbery and kidnaping cases.
Inspector Patrick Mussa Public relations Officer (PRO) for Limbe Police Station said Mpinga with his four friends were convicted by Darton court last week Friday.
When going back to Chichiri prison, the convicts sprayed pepper in one of the prison officer’s eyes and stabbed two others on the neck and stomach then escaped.
“Upon receipt of the news, Limbe Police detectives launched a manhunt which has resulted into the apprehension of Isaac who has since been charged with unlawful wounding and escaping from lawful custody. The arrest of Isaac has brought the number of those re-arrested to two,” said Mussa.
According to Mussa, police are still investigating the issue and has asked the general public to share any information on the whereabouts of the other convicts with the police.
