Police on the Copperbelt have arrested a prime suspect in connection with the murder of catholic priest Father Deodatus Kunda Mbebe in September last year.
Copperbelt police commissioner Peacewell Mweemba said the suspect, Danny Makina of Kapoto Township in Kitwe, was arrested after he admitted murdering Father Mbebe during an interrogation.
Mweemba said Makina admitted stealing the motor vehicle for the deceased which he later sold to a Congolese national and businessman.
He has further disclosed that Father Mbebe’s mobile phone has also been recovered from a person identified as Sofia Mulumbi, whom Makina sold it to.
